The new electric G-Wagon has become an e-sports icon.
Within the e-sports world, League of Legends is one of the most anticipated and competitive arenas, with some of the world’s greatest gaming talent and highest-stakes competitions coming together around the multiplayer battle arena game. As the League of Legends World Final prepares to take place this year in London, Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the start of Worlds 2024 in Berlin, with a custom electric G-Class taking on the role of Trophy Carrier.
As this year’s Trophy Carrier, it’s the job of the electric G-Wagon to transport the “Summoner’s Cup” from Berlin, through Paris, and eventually to London for the awaited final. Customized through Mercedes-Benz’s own MANUFAKTUR, the headrests of the electric G-Class feature League of Legends Worlds logos embroidered, and the trunk features a special module that allows the all-electric vehicle to carry the iconic trophy securely.
Its role as the Trophy Carrier is far from the only involvement Mercedes-Benz has in League of Legends e-sports. The reigning Worlds champion, Faker, is part of a team sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Korea. In addition, Mercedes-Benz gifted Faker a custom SL to celebrate his induction into the League of Legends Hall of Legends, making him the first inductee. As this year’s Worlds Trophy Carrier, the new Mercedes-Benz electric G-Wagon is an important piece of the e-sports world.
